UPDATE: 8/23 (2:00PM PST)
CAIT is happy to report increased functionality for sso.calarts.edu over the past hour. So, we encourage you to try logging into sso.calarts.edu with your CalArts Credentials.
Please submit a ticket if you have any issues logging in. We have noticed that the login screen may appear skewed to the right, we will look into that as well.
CAIT will continue to monitor the situation, and let you know when our SSO provider, Quicklaunch, has announced that they have officially resolved the issue. We will also continue to update the Service Alert for this issue on cait.calarts.edu.
Thank you for your continued patience.
UPDATE: 8/23 (11:00AM PST)
Our SSO vendor, Quicklaunch, is actively working to fix the issue. CAIT has been consulting with other educational institutions also experiencing the issue with Quicklaunch, and have shared knowledge and ideas to help circumvent scenarios like this in the future.
We understand the stress of not being able to log into certain platforms (like G-Suite or Zoom) and assure you CalArts IT is exhausting all avenues to get login functionality restored.
Although we still don't have an ETA for resolution, Quicklaunch has released additional information about the outage on their status page: https://quicklaunch.io/outage-status
As soon as we get more clarity towards a resolution time, we will communicate that via email and update the Service Alert for this issue on cait.calarts.edu.
Thank you for your continued patience.
UPDATE: 8/23 (8:30AM PST)
CAIT has restored service to Colleague (ui.calarts.edu) and Self Service (selfservice.calarts.edu/student) ONLY. Please use the indicated web addresses for access. You cannot use sso.calarts.edu to access these systems at this time.
Please note that the Hub and HubTime are still working as well (and have been all along).
This is a temporary workaround for these critical systems.
Google/gmail, for those unable to receive messages on their computer at this time, cannot be restored due to a significant technical hurdle that would affect the entire campus. This impacts our ability to restore service to a number of other systems such as Zoom, for those logged out of that service.
That latest from Quicklaunch is that they are experiencing a denial-of-service attack which has brought down multiple services.
As soon as we get more clarity towards a resolution time, we will communicate that via email and update the Service Alert for this issue on cait.calarts.edu.
Thank you for your continued patience.
