Who this is for
Use this guide if you have already registered your account on login.calarts.edu and you need to:
• Reset your password (forgot it)
• Change your password (you know it, but want to update it)
• Update your 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) options (Email and/or Mobile)
• Understand why you may still see a double login for some apps
Reset your password (Forgot Password)
Use this if you can’t remember your password.
1. Go to https://login.calarts.edu
2. Enter your CalArts email address
3. Click Go
4. Click Forgot Password
5. Follow the prompts to verify your identity and set a new password
✅ Tip: If you’re prompted for verification methods, the order is:
1. Authenticator App (first)
2. Email (second, after “Click Here for Email or SMS Codes”)
3. SMS (third, after “Click Here for Email or SMS Codes” again)
Change your password (You know your password)
Use this if you can log in and want to update your password.
1. Go to https://login.calarts.edu and sign in
2. Click the Profile icon (top-right)
3. Click Profile
4. Click Authentication Methods
5. Find Change Password and click Edit (next to it)
6. Follow the prompts to change your password
Important note (SSO + Wi-Fi)
Changing your password on login.calarts.edu updates your CalArts SSO password, which may also update the password you use for:
• CalArts Wi-Fi
• Other services that use your CalArts SSO password
Update your 2FA options (Email and/or Mobile)
Use this if you want to verify where codes are sent, or update your Personal Email or Mobile number for authentication.
1. Sign in to https://login.calarts.edu
2. Click the Profile icon (top-right)
3. Go to Profile Details
4. Click Edit
5. Update:
• Personal Email (for Email authentication codes)
• Mobile (for SMS/text authentication codes)
6. Save your changes
Control what 2FA options appear
• If you don’t want Email Authentication, remove/clear Personal Email
• If you don’t want SMS Authentication, remove/clear Mobile
How Email and SMS code method works (order)
When signing in, the options appear in this order:
1. Authenticator App
2. Email (if Personal Email is filled in)
3. SMS (if Mobile is filled in)
Why am I seeing a “double login” right now?
During the transition to the new SSO, some apps have moved to login.calarts.edu, and some have not moved yet.
Because of that, you may notice:
• You sign in to login.calarts.edu, then a specific app still prompts you to sign in again
• Some services still route through the older login (sso.calarts.edu)until they’re migrated
This is temporary and will go away as apps are moved over in phases.
