The CalArts Hub (hub.calarts.edu) is an internal website and mobile app that allows CalArts students, faculty and staff to share information in a user-friendly format (especially familiar to those who have used Facebook). The Hub helps enhance communications and provides a sense of community.
The latest version of the Hub will:
- Allow for the dissemination of campus-wide announcements and alerts;
- Provide easy access to CalArts email, calendars and G-Suite;
- Highlight the latest CalArts 24700 news and social media updates;
- Houses quick links to other systems including Hubtime (timesheets), Hub Helper, Course Catalog, Self-Service, etc.
- Allow committees, student groups, faculty groups, etc. to create their own online home that can be populated with content, announcements, events, files and discussions. These groups can then manage their own sites.
Logging into the Hub
Go to hub.calarts.edu and log in with your username and password.
The Hub uses its own set of credentials separate from your email. That said, your username should be your email address minus the @calarts.edu
ex. slatreille
If you are unable to log in, and you would like to reset your credentials, click on the Forgot Password link on the page.
Menus - Tools, Groups & Pages
All main menus are on the left side of your desktop screen or in the upper left corner for tablet or mobile devices.
Hubtime and Hub Helper
Hubtime - Hub Time is where you will be filling out your time sheet, approving the time sheets of others, as well as other tasks related to payroll. For a detailed guide on using Hub Time click here.
Hub Helper - Hub Helper is where you can complete a number of tasks, including mentor reports and checking your class roster.
Handbooks
Click Bookmarks and then Student/Faculty/Staff Handbook to access all pertinent Handbooks to your role.
Course Catalog
The Course Catalog is listed under Everyday Tools for all users. Click on Course Catalog to view the current CalArts Course Catalog.
The Course Catalog is housed on Self-Service. Users should expect to be sent to Self-Service and may be prompted to sign-in again.
Course Registration (For Students)
Course Registration is handled through Self-Service.
Students can access this by either:
1. Clicking the Self-Service button listed under Everyday Tools.
2 Click the Course Registration link listed under Student Resources. This page has specific instructions and gives a Student Planning Tool for guidance on how to use Self-Service.
Course Selection, Planning & Grading (For Faculty)
Course selection, planning and grading are all handled through Self-Service.
Faculty can access this by either:
1. Clicking the Self-Service button listed under Everyday Tools.
2. Click the Course Selection & Planning link under Faculty Resources. This page has specific instructions on how to grade with Self-Service and gives a video tutorial on Faculty Grading.
Calendars
Stay current with Academic Dates and Upcoming Events - both are listed under Bookmarks.
Each menu item will send you to the CalArt Academic Calendar (or Event Calendar) on CalArts.edu.
