This guide will help you log into your Microsoft 365 account using your CalArts email and SSO account. You' ll also learn how to use the web app version of Office and how to download and sign in to the desktop versions.
Logging into Microsoft 365
Open Your Browser: Use any web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
Go to the Microsoft 365 Login Page:
- Type in the URL: https://office.com and press
Click on "Sign In":
- Locate the "Sign In" button at the top right corner of the page and click on it.
Enter Your CalArts Email Address:
Type your full CalArts email address and click Next.
Enter Your CalArts SSO Password:
Type your SSO account password and click Next.
Complete MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication):
- If prompted, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication steps (e.g., approving the sign-in via your phone or email).
Access Microsoft 365 Dashboard:
- Once logged in, you'll see the Microsoft 365 dashboard with all available apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Using the Web App Version of Office
Select an App:
- From the Office 365 dashboard, click on any app icon (e.g., Word, Excel) to open the web app version.
Start Working:
- You can create, edit, and save documents directly in your web browser. Changes are automatically saved to OneDrive.
Downloading and Signing into the Desktop Versions
You can also install offline versions of your favorite Office apps to your computer.
Download Office Apps:
- From the Office 365 dashboard, click on the Install Office button (usually found on the top right).
- Choose Install Microsoft 365 apps from the dropdown menu.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Office suite on your computer.
Install the Apps:
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions on your device.
Open a Desktop App (e.g., Word, Excel):
- Once installed, open any Office app, like Word or Excel.
Sign In to Activate Office:
- Click on Sign In when prompted.
- Enter your CalArts email address and SSO password.
- Complete any required MFA steps to activate your Office apps.
