A well made home page is helpful in understanding how the course is organized and proves to be engaging and intuitive.
The home page design should communicate a clear path on how to navigate throughout the course content and provide an overview of the course's features. Where to begin, how to proceed, where to locate support and resources, and how to correspond with the instructor(s) and/or TA(s) are clearly defined within an effective home page.

Choosing a Home Page
First impressions are important! Your home page will be the first thing a student sees when they access your course.
When deciding on a home page, take a moment to consider the content and how you want the student experience to flow.
Creating a Custom Page as your Home Page
The home page provides a landing point for students. Creating an easy to use and engaging home page can clarify information and encourage community support for students throughout your course.
An effective and inviting home page should include the following:
- Instructor (and TA) Name(s) and contact information
- Tips for success, as well as procedures in the course
- Meeting time and location
For a custom home page, you will need to create a page, and then select that page as the Front Page.
