This guide will go over how to get started with your CalArts loaner laptop. If you have any questions, feel free to contact CAIT (cait@calarts.edu) for assistance.
Getting Started
1. Logging in to the Loaner Profile
When you are start up your laptop, it should automatically sign into the loaner account. If for whatever reason it doesn't, here are the credentials to sign in.
Laptop Login Credentials:
Username: caitloaner
Password: CA1Tspare

2. Connecting to your WiFi network
After logging in to the loaner profile, you will want to get connected to your home Wifi. To do so, click the WiFi symbol at the top right of your screen.

Find your home network on the list and click on it. You will be prompted to enter your network password. After you enter it click Join to connect.

3. Self Service
Self Service, not to be confused with the CalArts Self Service website, is a place that you can go to download CAIT approved and supported applications. Your are free to download and install any applications listed. Any other applications will require admin permission.
The easiest way to find and open Self Service is to use Spotlight Search. You can start a Spotlight search by clicking on the magnifying glass at the top right of your screen.

Click Self Service in the Spotlight Search bar that opens. Press Enter on your keyboard to open it up.

Simply find an application and click Install (you may need to click install twice depending on the application). If the application is already installed, you will see Reinstall listed.

4. Signing into Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud is home for various Adobe applications including Acrobat, Photoshop and more. Adobe Creative Cloud is already installed on your loaner laptop so you simply need to sign in.
To sign in, open up the Adobe Creative Cloud and click Continue with Google. We have placed the Creative Cloud application on your dock at the bottom of your screen for easy access.


Sign in with your CalArts email address.


You will now be in the Creative Cloud dashboard! From there you can install or open any Adobe applications that you have access too.
