01:06PM PST: The campus wireless networks have been performing as expected since the maintenance began this morning. We do not foresee any issues but will continue to monitor the controllers and access points for irregularities. At this point the wireless networks should be considered fully operational and available for normal use.
09:41AM PST: Wireless controller has been updated and we are seeing client activity. We've confirmed Faculty/Staff, Student, and CSSSA logins to appropriate SSIDs. Over the next few hours we will continue to test and watch for irregularities. It will take a few days to be confident that the maintenance solved the issues we've been seeing previously.
Our Network Operations team will be performing emergency maintenance to the CalArts campus wireless networks today from 8:13AM through 1:00PM PST. As we have more information we will update this article, our Twitter feed, and Facebook page.
- What: Campus Wireless Networks -- CASecure, CAGuest, CSSSAOffice, et al
- When: Today, July 30, 2015 from 8:13AM through 1:00PM PST.
- Estimated Impact: Campus wireless access will be unreliable during this maintenance window.
- Related Events (if any): This is directly related to the recurring issues we've been seeing with campus wireless. We had originally planned to do this maintenance after CSSSA had concluded but given the increasing frequency of problems it is prudent to do it now to prevent further issues. If maintenance is required to extend past 1:00PM PST we will update this article.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but if you have any questions or concerns please submit an IT ticket to firstname.lastname@example.org, or tweet @CalArtsIT, or call x7887.
