How Do I: Use the Equipment in G201/G202

The Generator Building is a new multipurpose building that houses offices, class rooms, meeting rooms, storage and of course the backup generator for power outages. The main focus of this article will be to inform you on how to utilize the audio/video equipment in G201 & G202.

Click on any of the dropdown links below:

Controlling the Room (Lights, Temp, Shades)

The controls for adjusting the shades and lights are located next to the entrance of either room. If you need any assistance with adjusting any of the room settings such as closing the shades or opening up the center divider to merge G201 and G202, please contact the Facilities front office. They can be reached at 661.253.7807. (Note: both rooms will need to be reserved to merge G201 & G202.)

Getting Setup for A Presentation

This section of the article will explain the typical setup process for presenting in G201/G202.

You can display various types of content through different sources such as a projector, TV, and Blu Ray/DVD.

Once you are logged in, you will be presented with a blank control panel which will be used for operating all the equipment in this room. Depending on what you will be needing for your presentation, please go through the different sections below for more detailed information on setting up those options specifically.

Projecting from your device to the TV/Projector

Presentations

Many of the users in G201/G202 will need to present content they already have on their laptop/mobile device.

To do this, first connect your equipment using the necessary cables to the AUX panel on the lectern (pictured above).

The available connections on the AUX panel are:

  1. HDMI
  2. VGA
  3. 3.5mm Audio
  4. Ethernet
  5. USB
  6. Power

Drag the Aux Input to the desired Output fields

In the example above, we would like to present the video feed of our device as well as the audio. Therefore, I dragged the AUX input to the Audio and LED Monitor outputs in G201.

You will see the LED TV or projector (depending on which you use) turn on.

Configuring Audio

Microphone / Audio

Microphone - The volume control for the microphone on the lectern is located on the right side of the Crestron interface. The arrows are used for raising or lowering the volume.

Also there is a separate button to mute sound all together (mic included) on the bottom of the main screen.

Important* we noticed that the volume needs to be around 80% or higher for any kind of sound to be audible. If the volume is set lower than that it is likely you will not hear anything from the speakers in the room.

When presenting with audio or on teleconference calls the audio should come from the six overhead speakers around the room.

When using the mute button on the Crestron interface, volume will be muted for the microphone as well as any other audio from connected devices.

Using the Document Projector

G201 also has the ability to present projected images through the Samsung Digital Presenter. The projector is located in a drawer on the right side of the lecturn, pictured below:

On the lectern, under the Source Selection menu, drag the A201 Doc Cam ( (A202 if you're in G202) to the LED Monitor. The television will turn on.

Using the DVD/Blu-ray Player

DVD/Blu-ray Player

The Blu-ray/DVD player is located in the bottom cabinet of the lectern. It allows a user to display the contents of a DVD or a Bluray disc.

Drag the "Blu-ray" icon onto the LED Monitor output (or Projector) and the Audio output.

Depending where you would like the DVD player to broadcast the video footage, you can either choose the Projector or LED Monitor outputs.

Adjust the volume using the "Main Volume" controls on the lectern.

Shutting Down The System
