Planned Maintenance: February 6-14, 2017

Our Network Operations and Application Development teams have scheduled a number of maintenance periods of the next 9 days to ensure the continued reliability and security of the CalArts network and service infrastructure.

During these times your experience with CalArts IT servers and services will be impacted, so please review our schedule below so avoid any unexpected problems or conflicts.  

Monday, February 6th, 2017

9:00AM - 12:00PM PST: Sophos / DeepFreeze -- Completed at 11:27AM

Tuesday, February 7th, 2017

Completed at 6:02AM

As part of our ongoing maintenance, IT will be working on the Library Database from 5:00AM to 7:30AM PST on Tuesday, February 6th, 2017. On and Off-Campus patrons should refrain from trying to access Library databases during this time. 

IT will also be performing maintenance on our VPN service. Those with VPN access will be unable to connect to our network during this maintenance window.   

  • What: Maintenance on the Library Databases and VPN
  • When: Tuesday, February 6th, 2017 from 5:00AM to 7:30AM PST
  • Why: Scheduled security maintenance
  • Expected Impact: Library databases will be inaccessible during this time for both off and on-campus clients. VPN will also be unavailable.

As part of ongoing maintenance, CalArts IT will be performing work on On-Campus Registrar and Financial Aid Office Services, UI access, Colleague Printing Services, and Reporting Services.

During this maintenance window, these services will be unavailable.

  • What: Planned Colleague Maintenance
  • When: Wednesday, February 8th, 2017, from 7:00PM to 11:00PM PST.
  • Why: To ensure the continued operation of critical Institute services.
  • Expected Impact: The affected services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
  • Related Events (if any): None.

Saturday, February 11th, 2017

As part of our ongoing maintenance, CalArts IT will performing work on several core CalArts services on Saturday February 11th, 2017 from 8:30AM-5:00PM PST.

During this maintenance period, these CalArts services will be unavailable, or unreliable at best: Departmental and personal fileshares (G and J drives), WebAdvisor, the HUB, HUB Helper, Colleague, UI, and Papercut (student printing).

  • What: Departmental and personal fileshares, WebAdvisor, the HUB, HUB Helper, Colleague, UI and Papercut.
  • When: Saturday, February 11th, 2017, from 8:30AM to 5:00PM PST.
  • Why: To ensure the continued operation of our core Institute services.
  • Expected Impact: The affected services will be unavailable, or unreliable at best, during the maintenance window.
  • Related Events (if any): None.
